Living Landscape

This work formed part of the Living Landscape: Ireland and Catalunya-Spain, an exhibition and symposium that took place in West Cork in 2005 and in Barcelona in 2006.  Artists were invited to select an area within West Cork and the neighbouring islands as a focus for their work and spent two weeks responding to the site and developing new work.  I created a site-specific, time based experience around the old Copper Mines in Allihes, Beara; an area that is normally out of bounds.  The public were encourage to engage with the physicality of the landscape, exploring the artwork and it’s connection with place.  The installation was shaped by the natural elements - changing and evolving over time.
