Threshold 1
In the ancient Irish tradition the special name for the essence of sacred wisdom was Imbas Forosnai - Light that Illuminates. Medieval Literature says the essence of Imbas Forosnai were the 9 sacred nuts of the Hazel tree.
Sacred hazel trees and Hawthorn had pieces of clothing, cloth, messages, wishes, tied on the branches. The earliest evidence of hazel leaves being used with cloth and objects was in Neolithic times. The practice still continues in Ireland.

Karum Creevagh and Experimental Heritage
The Black Silo Residency - June 2019.
Karum Creevagh is a group of archaeologists and artists in Ireland and Sweden. Their focus is on the landscapes of the Burren and the island of Oland in Sweden. I was invited by Maria Kerins to join the Creevagh group in the Burren.
Experimental Heritage developed out of this collaboration. Many trips were made between the Burren and Öland . Exchanges, field trips, research events exhibitions up until covid.
Threshold was a respond to Helle Kvamme’s installation Mittlandsskogens Mitt in Kalmar Konstmuseum.
Ongoing collaboration with Anne Hamrin Simmonsson included a residency in the Black Silo Studio.
